Registration & Eligibility

Who can participate?

The Competitive Edge Training Intensive is open to competitive gymnasts from all gymnastics clubs participating in:

• USAG Development Program Levels 2–10
• USAG Xcel Program Levels Bronze–Sapphire

Athletes do not need to be current members of South Shore Gymnastics Academy to attend.

How much does the intensive cost?

Registration is $199 per athlete and includes a full day of specialized training, direct feedback from gymnastics judges, a custom swag bag filled with competition essentials, and catered lunch.

How do I register?

Registration is completed through the South Shore Gymnastics Academy Member Log in/Parent Portal, the link above, or via our SSGA App.  Look for Special Events and scroll to the month of December.

Is registration limited?

YES! ONLY 35 SPOTS AVAILABLE!

To provide a quality training experience with meaningful coaching and judge interaction, registration is limited to just 35 athletes.

We encourage families to register early to secure their gymnast's spot!

When is the registration deadline?

Registration closes November 20, 2026, or earlier if all 35 spots are filled.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Registration is refundable for cancellations made on or before November 20, 2026.

No refunds will be issued after November 20, 2026.

What time should athletes arrive?

Athletes should arrive at 8:45 AM for check-in and preparation before training begins at 9:00 AM.

Can parents stay and watch?

Limited parent observation will be available. We encourage families to allow their athletes to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Training & Judges

What makes this intensive different from a regular gymnastics clinic?

Athletes will have the unique opportunity to train directly with experienced gymnastics judges, including judges they may encounter during their upcoming competitive season!

Gymnasts will learn what judges look for, better understand common deductions, and receive valuable feedback to help improve their execution, technique, and presentation.

Will gymnasts receive individual feedback?

Yes! Athletes will receive both individual corrections and group feedback throughout the training experience.

How will athletes be grouped?

Gymnasts will be grouped by competitive level to ensure appropriate instruction and challenges.

Does my gymnast need to have a complete competition routine?

Having competition routines prepared is recommended but not required.

Athletes will still benefit from skill development, technique refinement, and feedback from coaches and judges.

Is this appropriate for athletes in their first competitive season?

Absolutely! The intensive is designed to benefit gymnasts across a wide range of competitive levels and experience.

Lunch & What to Bring

Is lunch included?

Yes! A catered lunch is included with registration.

What if my gymnast has food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Athletes with dietary restrictions or food allergies are welcome to bring their own lunch.

What should my gymnast bring?

• Refillable water bottle
• Regular gymnastics equipment, including grips if used
• Appropriate gymnastics attire
• Packed lunch if needed for dietary restrictions

When will athletes receive their swag bags?

Each gymnast will receive their custom Competitive Edge swag bag at check-in, filled with competition essentials!

Holiday Gifts & Special Extras

Can I give the intensive as a holiday gift?

Absolutely! The Competitive Edge Training Intensive is a meaningful holiday gift for gymnasts who love their sport.

It's an opportunity to give something beyond a traditional present: confidence, inspiration, and an experience they can carry into their competition season.

Is a gift certificate available?

Yes! Families will receive a matching digital, printable Competitive Edge gift certificate to present to their gymnast as a holiday surprise.  Please email brooke@southshoregymnasticsacademy for the certificate.

Can parents leave during the intensive?

Yes! With training running from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, parents have a wonderful opportunity to finish last-minute holiday shopping or preparations while their gymnast participates.
